Al Bayader International to invest AED 180 million in food packaging hub at National Industries Park

The new facility is expected to expand regional food packaging manufacturing and logistics capacity in Dubai.

According to Government of Dubai Media Office, National Industries Park (NIP) has signed an agreement with Al Bayader International to establish an AED 180 million (USD 50 million) integrated manufacturing and logistics hub in Dubai, a project expected to expand regional food packaging production capacity by up to 30,000 tonnes annually.

The development is designed to strengthen packaging supply chains serving the hospitality, tourism and food service sectors while increasing local manufacturing capacity for packaging materials across the GCC.

Spanning more than 678,000 sq ft, the project will combine manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations within a single site. The facility will also include a robotics-enabled fulfilment centre, Al Bayader International’s headquarters and employee accommodation. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2026, with full operations targeted for early 2028.

Once operational, the site will manufacture up to 10,000 tonnes of paper-based food packaging and 20,000 tonnes of circular plastics, including recycled PET (rPET), annually. Additional production lines for aluminium-based and bio-based packaging materials are planned as part of future expansion phases.

The investment is expected to enhance regional packaging availability, support shorter supply lead times and strengthen export capabilities to regional and international markets.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, Global COO, Parks and Economic Zones, DP World, said expanding manufacturing capacity in the packaging sector would support supply chain reliability and strengthen the wider trade ecosystem across the GCC. He added that the project reinforces Dubai’s position as a centre for advanced manufacturing and value-added logistics activities.

Nidal Haddad, Founder and CEO of Al Bayader International, described the project as an important milestone in the company’s long-term growth plans, bringing manufacturing, logistics and corporate functions together within a single integrated platform.

The facility will incorporate low-emission production lines, solar energy systems, advanced water and waste management infrastructure, and an on-site water treatment plant. The development also supports the UAE’s Operation 300bn strategy by expanding advanced manufacturing capacity, strengthening local production and supporting exports.
